Process

The development involved a 3-stage iterative prototyping process exploring:

1)  Pathogen location

2)  Pathogen survival

3)  Pathogen transmission

An experimental pathogen viewer involving augmented reality (AR) was developed.

Visualisations for norovirus, Clostridium difficile, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were developed to contrast the differences in location, survival and transmission between different pathogens.

NHS staff were engaged in each of the 3 stages in 2 NHS boards.
