The development involved a 3-stage iterative prototyping process exploring:
1) Pathogen location
2) Pathogen survival
3) Pathogen transmission
An experimental pathogen viewer involving augmented reality (AR) was developed.
Visualisations for norovirus, Clostridium difficile, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were developed to contrast the differences in location, survival and transmission between different pathogens.
NHS staff were engaged in each of the 3 stages in 2 NHS boards.
